Boone County Fair Week

Good evening all! Boy has it been a busy summer! We apologize for not keeping everyone up-to-date on the happenings with County Line Grange, but will try going forward. From August 5th through the 10th, it was the annual Boone County Fair week and it was hot! Attendance was great at the fair and as usual, we here at County Line had a blast serving our community. We helped at breakfast as well as cooked delicious chicken on Saturday, Aug. 9th. Don’t believe us? Here are photos just to show how much fun we had! Photos are provided by our members Amber and Ned.

Back at it! Update from CLG!

What a busy spring! It has been a while since we have been able to update what County Line Grange has been doing! In March, we held our annual spaghetti dinner benefitting the 4Hers in our area. We moved to a different location this year and we had a successful turnout! Everyone enjoyed themselves and ate delicious spaghetti. In April, we took part in the a Grange Open House at the Community Grange Hall where the different Grange’s of Boone County had booths explaining what each Grange did. Lots of information was shared and people learned exactly what we are about. Hope everyone is having a great year and enjoying this BEAUTIFUL weather!

What a year!

It has been quite a past few months! Finally able to get back on and update everyone as to what CLG has been doing since August! We have held our monthly meetings, partook in Belvidere’s Hometown Christmas, recognized out Junior Granger of the Year, had a frightfully ghoul Halloween meeting, and so much in-between! Enjoy the pictures! Here’s to what 2025 will bring to everyone!

2024 Distinguished Grange

County Line received some amazing news today!! We were named a 2024 Distinguished Grange!! Lots of hard work went into this and we are grateful for this honor! Just a snippet of what it takes to named a Distinguished Grange, they look at the amount of community service hours a Grange does. It is our pleasure to say that County Line had a total of 100,261 Community Service Hours!!

Here is the letter we received today from the National Grange President: Dear County Line Grange Members,

Congratulations! County Line Grange will be recognized as a Distinguished Grange at the 158th annual convention of the National Grange in Bettendorf, Iowa on Friday evening, November 15 at 7:30 pm as part of our Recognition Night program. We look forward to honoring your members as a Distinguished Grange for the 2nd year – what a great accomplishment.

Congratulations County Line Grange members on achieving this honor!

Fraternally,

Chris

July happenings

What a busy month so far! We held our monthly meeting and participated in so much! We had our museum dedication and presented our longest serving member, 75 years!, to Dotty! We also participated in the Belvidere Heritage Days Parade and fun was had by all. Then we helped with the cleanup from the dog show in which our members, Jeremy, Butch, Jessica, Heather, Cathy, Paul Jr., Jane, Kim, Myron, Jean, Deb, Sara, and Judy helped out. There was a grad party which members Kim, Lisa, Cathy, and Jessica helped serve. Busy busy busy! MOPAR is happening at the Boone County Fairgrounds July 20-21 so you will find us out there as well!

Happy birthday to our July birthdays! Paul A, Sara, Ned, Noah, Linda, Rick, Myron, and Paul Jr.!!

Well done, Good and Faithful Servant

Grangers: it is with a heavy heart to let those who do not already know that we have lost our friend and family member, Clay Murry. Clay passed Wednesday, June 26th. The celebration of life will be Saturday, July 13 from 11:00-3:00 at Blackhawk Athletic Club, 2023 Broadway, Rockford, IL.
Well done, Good and Faithful Servant. We will miss you.

June Meeting

On June 12th, we held our monthly meeting. We did something a little different this time though: we held a formal meeting and went through the rituals of Grange. It was a nice refresher/introduction to the ritual! We also celebrated all the fathers of our Grange as we celebrated Father’s Day. We discussed our upcoming event with MOPAR as well as our Grange Day event! More to come on that! The new Grange Museum is coming along nicely as we await the inspection. It will be the start of a busy summer as the fair is upon us!

Happy birthday’s to our members: Barb, Nicole and Colton!

April and May Meetings

We talked about the museum progress and it is coming along very nicely. Our scholarship committee talked about our scholarship winners and these recipients are very impressive! Very well deserved. We also are in the works of starting up a Junior Grange!

We celebrated Easter and Mothers Day at County Line for our April and May meetings. Everyone had a great time celebrating the two special days.

We celebrated our April birthdays of Barb, Dakota, Lisa, Joan, Kaitlyn, and Cathy!

Our May birthdays are Lori, Lowell, Doug and John. Myron and Jean also celebrated their anniversary this month. Happy anniversary and birthday to our April and May birthdays/anniversaries!

Just some of the awesome mother’s of County Line Grange!

4H Spaghetti Dinner

On Saturday, March 23rd, we held our annual 4H Spaghetti Dinner in conjunction with Leroy Grange at Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere and it was fun held by all! Full house the entire night and many full bellies!

March 13th meeting

We held our March meeting and had a busy one! We had a couple of guest speakers attend and they were most informative. We had Sherri from Rosecrance come and talk about some of the mental health services their organization offers in Rockford area. Second, we had Stephanie from the Haven Network talk to us about the services her organization provides to families who have lost their little ones at birth. Lastly, we had Karie and Marisa come talk about the Spring Fling that was held March 16-18th for kids hosted by Youth Grange.

It was a very informative meeting about what our area provides to the community. We also prepped for our spaghetti dinner for March 23rd. And lastly, Happy St. Patrick’s Day and happy birthday to Heather and Clay!

Valentine’s Day meeting

On Valentine’s Day, we held our monthly meeting as well as celebrated our members who have/had birthdays in Jan and Feb. Fun was had by all!

Jan birthdays: Stephanie, Penny, Kathy, Jean, Pete, Ann, and Ethan

Feb birthdays: Tamra, Jo Ellen, Jeremy, Jane

Christmas Party!

On January 6th, we held our Christmas party! Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and the dice game for a grab gift. What a wonderful time!

December Meeting/Cookie Decorating

At our monthly meeting in December, we decided to change things up a bit! We held our monthly meeting but we also had a guest, Sarah, come in to show us how to decorate Christmas cookies, which then went to the Vets Drop In center the next day! What a fun time we all had!
